Pomeranian Font (ぽめらにあんフォント) is a cute display free font for download. It features slightly thick strokes with a tad rounded finish. Overall it gives a casual, hearty feel exactly the kind of characteristics of a Pomeranian dog would give!

Corporate Logo Maru (コーポレート・ロゴ丸) is a bold rounded font that you can download for free. The font was created with the base from Jikasei’s Genyuu Gothic, and replace it with the original hiragana and katakana character designs. Genyuu Gothic was designed based on open source font Source Han Sans.

Corporate Logo Maru comes with the standard hiragana and katakana, also most of the kanji characters. The font is license under SIL Open Font License, means you can use it for commercial works.

Ankoku Zonji (暗黒ゾン字) is the latest scary style free font series from Ankoku Koubou. The strokes of the font are thick and the spiky and uneven surface makes this font carrying the characteristics of being a horror design font. This font took the inspiration of the old time horror movie or the signage of the ghost houses.

Komorebi Gothic (木漏れ日ゴシック) is a casual looking Japanese sans serif font. This font was created with the base from another open source font Ume Gothic. For the hiragana and katakana character style, according to the designer, it was like a combination of digital and teacher’s handwriting on the blackboard. Togalite (トガリテ) is a display style free Japanese font which comes with 6 font weight. The font was designed based off the popular open source font M+, the difference is that the edges of the characters are sharpened and protruding out, giving the sense of thorn.

The name Togalite is a combined word of French word “égalité” which means “balanced” and Japanese word “Togaru (尖る)” which means sharp edge.

FZ Imokenpi (FZイモケンピ) is a display style Japanese font free for download. The strokes of the characters were like being constructed with torn transparent tape. This font can be an interesting choice for typographic works that require some attention. It might not be a good choice for smaller font sizes as it will lose the finer details of the font design.

Banana Slip Plus

Banana Slip Plus is a display style free font with a little dose of cute elements. It was being refined from the previous version to improve on the visual balance of the characters, as well as adding more kanji characters.

Hachi Maru Pop is a cute roundish free font that was inspired by the font style that was once trended in the 1980s in Japan. Such font style was quite popular among the teenage girls in that era. Hachi Maru in Japanese means 80, and they certainly incorporates the essence of the cute culture of the 80s, while the creator made some adjustments by injecting the modern design style into it.
